Getting started checklist for new Storefront customers

Welcome to OfferUp Storefronts. This checklist covers the key steps to help you get up and running and make the most of your new account.

Set up your public profile

Your public profile is what buyers see when they visit your business page on OfferUp. You can complete your profile directly from the Business Portal. Taking a few minutes to fill it out gives buyers more confidence before reaching out.

  • Add a profile photo. Upload a photo that represents your business, such as your storefront, logo, or brand image.
  • Add your business name. This is the name that will appear on your listings and your public profile.
  • Add a phone number. Your phone number will be displayed as a click-to-call option on your profile, making it easy for buyers to reach you directly.
  • Add your website. Link to your business website so buyers can learn more about what you offer.
  • Connect your Google profile. Link your Google Business profile to display your reviews, hours, and address on your OfferUp profile.
  • Describe your business. Add a short description of your business to help buyers understand what you sell and what makes your business unique.

Get your inventory live

The first step is getting your items listed. The more of your inventory that's live on OfferUp, the more buyers you can reach.

  • Post your first listings. Make sure each listing has photos, an accurate description, and a competitive price. For tips, see How to create a great listing.
  • Use clear, accurate photos. Good photos give buyers a clear sense of what you're selling.
  • Add a 60 second video. Show the item from multiple angles, demonstrate how it works, or highlight any flaws.
  • Upload inventory in bulk. Instead of posting one item at a time, use the Business Portal's spreadsheet upload feature to post multiple listings at once.
  • Connect your Shopify store. If you use Shopify, you can sync your products directly to OfferUp. Any updates you make in Shopify — such as price or title changes — will automatically update on OfferUp in real time. For setup instructions, see Installing and setting up the OfferUp Shopify app.

Respond to buyers quickly

How quickly and consistently you respond to messages is visible on your profile. Staying responsive shows buyers you're an engaged, reliable seller.

  • Turn on notifications. Make sure push and email notifications are enabled in the app and on your device so you don't miss a message from a buyer.
  • Respond to messages promptly. Try to reply to buyer messages as quickly as possible. Staying responsive helps build trust with potential buyers.
  • Use quick replies. If you're on the Elite plan, set up Quick Replies in the OfferUp mobile app to respond to common buyer questions with a single click. For more information, see Quick replies for chat.

Make the most of the Business Portal

The Business Portal is your central hub for managing your Storefronts account. Here are a few things to set up and explore early on.

  • Manage your listings. View, edit, and update all of your active listings from a single dashboard. For more information, see Manage listings with Business Portal.
  • Set up your services. Let buyers know what your business offers — such as financing, shipping, local delivery, or trade-ins — by adding service cards to your listings. For more information, see Services your business offers.
  • Set up promotions. Promote your listings to increase their visibility in the feed. For more information, see Manage promotions with Business Portal.
  • Manage your inbox. Keep on top of buyer messages directly from the portal. For more information, see How to use messaging in the Business Portal.
  • Connect your Google profile. Link your Google Business profile to display your reviews, hours, and address on your OfferUp profile. For more information, see Connect your Google profile.
  • Track your performance. Use the Performance Dashboard in the Business Portal to monitor your listing views, engagements, response time, and response rate. For more information, see Track your business performance.
