Troubleshooting Shopify Integration Issues

If you’re having trouble syncing your Shopify products, don’t worry—most issues are easy to fix with a few quick checks. Review these troubleshooting tips to resolve common issues.

Note

Before you begin, make sure you’ve started installing the OfferUp Shopify app.

I’m stuck on the “Setting Up Your OfferUp App” screen

During installation, Shopify automatically adds all of your products to the OfferUp sales channel. To give you control over which products sync to OfferUp, the setup process removes these products so you can choose what to list.

The time this takes depends on the size of your product catalog:

  • A few hundred products: Setup usually completes within a few minutes.
  • Large catalogs (tens of thousands of products or more): Setup may take longer and can take up to a few hours.
Setting up your offerup app, something went wrong

Occasionally, products aren’t removed successfully from the OfferUp sales channel during setup. If this happens:

  • You’ll see the message “Something went wrong. Click below to continue unpublishing products.”
  • Click Continue to retry removing the affected products.
  • Wait a few more minutes for setup to finish.
  • Once setup completes, continue connecting your OfferUp Business account.

I’m getting an error when trying to connect my OfferUp Business account

Shopify integrations are only supported for OfferUp Business accounts. If you see an error during setup, make sure you’re signing in with the correct account.
Business account required, sign up for OfferUp business or Change account.

If you have more than one OfferUp account (for example, a personal account and a business account), log in to your OfferUp Business account during the account connection step of the setup process.

I’m seeing a “Products require your attention” error, and my products aren’t syncing

When a product fails to sync, it appears in the Publishing card under Not published in the OfferUp app.

Products require your attention before they can be published to OfferUp.

Clicking the Not published products link opens the Bulk Editor. However, the Bulk Editor won’t show product-specific errors.

To find out why a product isn’t syncing:

  • Open the product detail page for one of the products listed under Not published.
  • On the product detail page, review the Publishing card.
  • To see what’s preventing the product from syncing, check the listed errors.
1 error. At least one image is required.

Below are the most common errors you may see on the product detail page, along with steps to resolve them.

Monthly posting limit reached

This error means you’ve reached your monthly posting limit for a specific category on OfferUp.

What to do:

  • Wait until the start of the next calendar month when your limit resets.
  • Once your posting limit resets, remove the products with this error from the OfferUp sales channel, then add them back to retry syncing.
At least one image is required

OfferUp requires at least one image per product to sync successfully.

What to do:

  • Add at least one image to the product in Shopify.
  • Make sure the product is included in the OfferUp sales channel. The product will sync automatically once the image is added.
No active shop connections found

This error means your Shopify store isn’t currently connected to an OfferUp Business account.

What to do:

  • Connect your Shopify store to your OfferUp Business account by following the steps in Installing and setting up the OfferUp Shopify app.
  • Once connected, remove the products with this error from the OfferUp sales channel, then add them back to retry syncing.
Your OfferUp Business account is inactive

If your OfferUp Business account is inactive (for example, if you canceled your OfferUp for Business subscription), product updates will not sync to OfferUp.

What to do:

  • To reactivate your account, contact our support team at (425) 906-3777.
  • Once active, remove the products with this error from the OfferUp sales channel, then add them back to retry syncing.
