Promoting your listings

Want to get more eyes on your inventory? Try promoting your listings so they stand out in the feed. With more buyers looking at your listings, you'll have more opportunities to generate leads and sales.

Why to promote your listings

When you want to highlight a listing in the feed, you can promote it. A promoted listing (also known as a promoted placement) gets bumped up near the top of the feed and displays a special Promoted icon to make it stand out. Because the listing is more visible, it’s likely to grab the attention of interested buyers.

How promoting works

  • First, you purchase a promotion package in a specific category. Your package will give you a set number of promotions that you can apply to your listings. For example, let's say you buy 200 promotions in the Furniture category.

  • Next, you select the listings you want to promote in the feed, or let us choose for you based on your preferred criteria, such as by newest or oldest listings.

  • Then, when a buyer performs a keyword search, your relevant promoted listings will appear near the top of their search results. 

    For example, let's say a buyer searches for “dining tables” in Seattle, WA, and you’re promoting some in that area. The buyer will see your promoted dining tables near the top of their search results so they're more likely to click on them first.

  • When you sell a promoted item, we automatically replace it with the next listing in that category, according to your preferred criteria. For example, we’ll promote the next listing with the highest price or the newest posting date. This ensures that you get the most value from your promotions by continually highlighting a portion of your inventory in the feed.

Buying promotion packages

To start promoting your listings, purchase a promotion package in your preferred category. Our customizable packages can be tailored to suit your specific selling needs. To discuss options and pricing, complete the applicable interest form.
